2019 Travel Grants

The IEEE Photonics Society is providing more travel grant opportunities than ever to encourage early career participation and mentorship at IEEE RAPID. The grant funds, up to $2.5K USD, within both application programs are intended to be used for travel and lodging expenses. In addition, comped student registrations for the conference will be given to the grantees. The deadline to apply for the below applications is Friday, June 14, 2019.

Student & Young Professional Travel Grants

An applicant should be a full time, degree seeking student, i.e. undergrad, graduate, post-doc, etc., or early career professional up to 15 years post first degree. Other requirements are: an applicant must be an IEEE Photonics Society Member and sponsored by an advisor, professor, mentor or direct supervisor.

Women in Photonics Travel Grants

The IEEE Women in Photonics initiative established this travel grants program to support the career growth of its women members. Women students or in early career, i.e. undergrad, graduate, post-doc, etc., and/or volunteer for the IEEE Women in Photonics program are encouraged to apply. Men and gender minorities may also apply if they are active volunteers supporting the IEEE Women in Photonics initiative. Other requirements are: applicant must be an IEEE Photonics Society Member and sponsored by an advisor, professor, mentor or direct supervisor.
